External Leadership

External leadership is provided by companies and individuals from business, industry, and government. Two key groups provide invaluable support and advice.

UH Computer Science Partners is an industrial organization run by representatives of companies who have professional interests in high-quality education in the UH Department of Computer Science and are willing to help form and achieve goals consistent with the requirements of world-class departments of information technology.

The program seeks to increase relationships and understandings between the department and industry, to improve the department's knowledge of industrial requirements and practices, to keep partners informed regarding research and teaching goals, to help the department better prepare students for real-world careers, to help place students, and to make industrial-departmental collaborations more likely. Partners support the department with financial and in-kind donations. Current members include:

The UH Computer Science Industrial Advisory Board is an organization of advisors that provides the department specific information on curriculum and student preparation for a transition to productive careers in business, industry, and government. The group was formed during the recent successful undergraduate program accreditation process and has continued to provide valuable advice to the department. Current membership includes:
