Scholarships for Graduate and Undergraduate Students

Several scholarships for graduate and undergraduate (senior and junior) students are available in the 2006/2007 academic year.  Each scholarship provides financial support of up to $1000, with half the amount disbursed in the fall and the remainder in the spring semester.  These amounts qualify the recipients for in-state tuition for the entire academic year, including the summer. These scholarships are available through the generous support of Chevron Texaco, Exxon Mobil, Shell, and the Mehta Foundation.

Eligibility requirements:

  1. Recipients must register for at least 6 hours in the fall 2006 semester.
  2. Undergraduate or graduate students that were accepted in the Department of Computer Science in the spring of 2006 or earlier will be considered.
  3. The minimum GPA for undergraduate students is 3.0 and for graduate students is 3.25.

Applicants must submit the following material:

  1. A completed application form, available at 501 PGH or the Computer Science web site (www.cs.uh.edu).
  2. A resume of the applicant’s background (3 pages maximum).
  3. One letter of recommendation

All applications must be received by Friday, July 28, 2006.
