A research support position is available during the Spring semester in the High Performance Computing Tools Group (HPCTools) at the University of Houston's Computer Science Department. HPCTools is engaged in applied research into state-of-the-art programming environments. The opening, which is suitable for a Computer Science undergraduate, is supported by NSF's Research Experiences for Undergraduates program. The work involves writing and deploying scripts to automate experiments using our OpenUH compiler suite, developing Java plug-ins and supporting our investigation of programming tools. We expect some knowledge of Unix/Linux as well as programming experience in Perl, Java and C/C++. Familiarity with Fortran is a plus, but is not required. We offer a weekly stipend and support for room & board expenses.The successful applicant will be given an opportunity to participate in cutting-edge applied research and to gain practical experience with state-of-the-art technologies.
