Automated Deployment of Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) Video Files
Abstract
As the Internet continues to grow, new applications such as streaming video and audio and Internet telephony
are emerging. It has been a long standing challenge to make Internet video streaming a commodity service.
This means that anyone with a commodity Internet connection and computer equipment can broadcast high
quality video to a large group of receivers in real time.
Creating, digitizing, and streaming video is an extremely time consuming and complex process regardless of its
length, resolution, or the compression scheme. To reduce the time and complexity of digitizing and streaming
video, we present a tool to automate the process of streaming video over the Internet. Apple's QuickTime Streaming
technology is chosen over other contemporary streaming technologies due to the popularity of its
player software and the ease of use in constructing streaming video.
