The purpose of this thesis project is to develop a prototype of sonification of well log data. Using different data mapping strategies (linear and logarithmic), well log data can be converted to audio information. With the prototype developed, users can choose any range of depth for a given well, and the selected well log for that range will be quickly scanned and the log data will be represented by a sound amplitude. This approach allows users to explore the well log data in a very unique way. The prototype application based on Microsoft Visual Studioâ was developed on a Microsoft Windows platform; this prototype has an interface that can be mastered by the user.
