Application Steps
- Application is received; acknowledgement e-mail is sent with UH ID number.
- Documents are received; acknowledgement e-mail is sent.
- Continuous answering of e-mails and phone calls asking for application status delays processing; we will not answer multiple inquiries.
- File is examined for completion, e-mail is sent stating complete and will be reviewed, or listing missing documents/test scores. CHECKLISTS ARE ONLY UPDATED AT THIS TIME.
- When file is complete, it is sent for department review.
- When the department decision is made, the file is sent for college review (Office of the Dean). This is the official decision, and is entered into student data. A decision letter is written.
- The file is returned to the department. U.S., permanent-resident, and non-F-1 or J-1 visa students will have their decision letters and New Student information mailed.
International students will be notified of the decision and asked if they wish the I-20 printed. I-20 requests are submitted for those students who agree. When the I-20s are competed, a scanned copy is e-mailed to the student to verify correctness. If correct, the I-20 and New Student Information is mailed to the student.
Deferring application is approved:
We do not defer an admit. We will update an application to a new semester once. If an I-20 was not printed for the first approval, a new application fee will not be due. If the first decision was made with unofficial test scopes or an incomplete transcript, the missing information will be required for the new decision.
