Student Information Regarding Graduate Assistantships
All newly admitted students in the Computer Science Department
that have been offered assistantships must complete a work packet
in order for the student to be put into the payroll system and
receive a check. The new student must go to HR website, print out forms
and completely fill them out and return them to Ahn Nash. Students would need to complete a GSA form and have their
employer fill in information about the rate of pay and the length of
the assignment and turn it in to the graduate advisor Yvette Elder,
it also needs to say what the student will be employed as (RA, TA,
GA, IA). The student would need to check the waiver box if they want to get
an in-state tuition waiver. Students that are appointed to assistantships in the Fall semester
will in most cases continue with the assistantship through the
Spring semester unless notified otherwise. In the Summer
semester students would need to fill out forms again and turn them
in by the deadline that will be set by the graduate advisor.
