If Bridges Can Talk
UH and UC Davis Researchers Join Efforts on Autonomous Structural Health Monitoring

Led by Dr. Rong Zheng, a team of researchers – Dr. Gangbing Song (ME), Dr. Zhi Ding (ECE, UC Davis) – received an National Science Foundation Grant to investigate new techniques to automate structural health monitoring for civil infrastructures. The system will consist of sensors organically integrated within the structure, free of wire leads and external power sources.
