Dr. Deng won a research grant from Texas ARP program
- Dr. Deng, assistant professor of Computer Science and the Director of Computer Graphics and Interactive Media Lab at UH, won a research grant from the Texas Norman Hackerman Advanced Research Program (ARP) on facial animation. Dr. Deng is the sole PI for this project. The total amount is about $101K for two years. The goal of this research project is to build a framework for creating more perceptually-believable talking faces for a broad variety of applications. Texas ARP 2007 program funded 121 proposal out of a total of 1952 proposal submissions. Its funded rate is about 6%. In computer science field, a total of 9 awards were given.
