Online/Classroom Hybrid Courses
Department of Computer Science will offer the following
course with "hybrid" sections in Fall 2006.
|
Artificial Intelligence Programming
(COSC4368) by Professor Ricardo Vilalta
|
The hybrid courses will have the following basic structure:
1.
|
The hybrid class will meet once a week according to the
published schedule for quizzes, exams, specific
discussions, tutorials demonstrations, and hands on
work sessions.
|
2.
|
Tablet PC based recorded lectures from the regular
classroom sections will be made available as
streaming video through VNet
(vnet.uh.edu).
|
3.
|
The instructors will be available during office hours
and by appointment for individual consultations.
|
Hybrid sections are part of a pilot project of the
Computer Science Department to offer a series of
courses that offer students considerable flexibility
but do not sacrifice the personal interaction that is
also important for learning. The course may be
particularly suitable for students who have logistical
difficulty reaching the campus, perhaps because of work.
Additional hybrid sections will be offered in coming
semesters with an initial emphasis on senior level
electives.
