Distributed Object Computing has taken new meaning yet again. There is quite some excitement over the benefits of using XML Web Services. This course will introduce the students to .NET environment, provide a very quick overview of C# and focus indepth on the concepts of Web Services using .NET and also on how to interact with the Java based Web Services.

Topics:

Prerequisite for this course: COSC 4319 "Distributed Object Computing..." requires strong programming knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming in C++ or Java. You must have written several programs in C++/Java using Inheritance, Polymorphism (virtual functions). This course will not teach C++ or Java and is not intended to teach C# either. COSC 1320 does (C++) that.
